Southern Water serve customers right across the English channel and throughout the traditional chalklands of Southern England.

Clean Seas Please

Clean Seas Please is funded by the Environment Agency and managed by Hastings Voluntary Action and Rother Voluntary Action. Above the beach is a promenade and the urban backdrop of Hastings. It’s suspected that pollution, such as high bacteria concentrations, is caused primarily by problems with the sewer infrastructure and misconnections.

The project is developing a schools programme – the Shore Academy - and is working on mini projects with plumbers and a plumbing course, catering outlets, parents with young children and the hotel trade as well as a full programme of community events through the spring and summer.
